Jimmy Carter
Month of Service
Federal funding cuts are threatening local nonprofits.
Knox County Democrats are done waiting for Washington to care about our community. This October's "Jimmy Carter Month of Service" is our answer to federal funding cuts threatening local food assistance, youth programs, and support for our most vulnerable neighbors.
We're showing up, won’t you join us?

Why Join Us?
For Jimmy Carter
Did you know, President Carter dedicated his life after the presidency to fighting ballot-box fraud and protecting free and fair democracies in over 40 countries?
For Our Community
These organizations serve thousands of Knox County families every year. When federal funding disappears, local support becomes more critical than ever.
For Democratic Values
When our institutions are under attack, Carter's example shows us that protecting democracy isn’t just about the ballot box, it means showing up for our neighbors.
Volunteer With Us
Turn your desire to help into meaningful action by volunteering at least four hours during October
with one of the nonprofits below doing the vital work to make Knox County stronger.

“We've suffered enough in this country because some Presidents and their advisers have felt it necessary to prove their supposed ''toughness" by pursuing rash and ultimately tragic policies…
A strong nation, like a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful and restrained. It can afford to extend a helping hand to others.
It's a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity. Ours is a strong nation, and it must remain strong. The foremost responsibility of any President is to guarantee the security of our country.”
