As our largest annual fundraiser, Truman Day fuels the grassroots organizing and voter outreach that help Democrats win close races across Knox County. We're excited to welcome State Representative Aftyn Behn and author Corbin Trent as our featured speakers.

Aftyn Behn

Aftyn is a Tennessee state representative, licensed social worker, and community organizer. Since taking office in 2023, she has focused on government transparency, public accountability, tax policy, and issues affecting working families. Her legislative work has included efforts related to consumer costs, public assets such as the Tennessee Valley Authority, and worker-focused economic policy. During her keynote, she will share what it means to care loudly for her Tennessee constituents.

Corbin Trent

Corbin will explore political engagement and organizing efforts in the Appalachian region, drawing on his experience as a Tennessee-based writer and strategist.

Corbin is an East Tennessee native, writer, and political strategist who has served as a senior advisor to Bernie Sanders, communications director for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and co-founder of Justice Democrats. He currently writes A Fight Worth Having, focused on economic development, industrial policy, and America’s capacity to build and grow.
